ART 3
Above on the farthest right, is my first attempt at screen printing. I ended up messing up the process multiple different times but it got me familiar with the utensils and how to do it. The two other pictures, in the middle and to the left, are my second and third tries. This time i tried to make it look like something you could buy from a store. I designed the print for my boyfriend and customize it to him. Working with screen printing has inspired me to work with it outside of school as well.
This was a sweatshirt I painted for myself of a Simpsons character I morphed a little bit. I used ink to set the base and it was still difficult to get the payoff from the paint to be bold and bright. I love how it turned out, wish I painted it on the front!
This is a painting of where i grew up that i painted for my mom. I used acrylic paint like i always have. I painted this on canvas paper so the material started cracking as it dried but i still like it. I think i did well with shadows and angles in this piece but shouldve kept my lines straighter.
The piece above is supposed to be me in different popular cartoon style. Top left corner is inspired by Big Mouth, the top right is Bob's Burgers, the bottom left is American Dad and the bottom right is inspired by Total Drama Island.
On the right is my unfinished piece of Chance the Rapper. My friends and i like his music and especially this album so i wanted to paint this cover as a present for one of them.
To the left is the finished product. I really tried challenging myself, I’ve never painted detailed portraits of people like this.
Here’s a couple of my more abstract pieces. On the far left was a present for my friend who loves Rick and Morty. In the middle is an image inspired by the time I got accidentally ran over by my mom softmore year. Those red shoes were what I was wearing. On the far left is a painting inspired by a sketch I did earlier last year (‘19).
Below is an unfinished piece of Tyler the creator. Another attempt at a realistic portrait and I love how it turned out but honestly like it better before I painted his face on. To me and others it still looked like Tyler the creator before I added his face so I could’ve gone with out.
This is a tapestry I made out of an old curtain I found in my closet. This took me approximately two weeks and it was different getting to paint on fabric, took much longer. I love how this turned out and it’s hanging in my room.
This ended up being my favorite art piece and in my opinion most successful. This is an artist I love named Lil Peep that passed a few years ago. I think it’s the most realistic portrait I’ve painted by far.
This was a big piece I painted of a picture of the beach my mom took, it was her Christmas present. The water definitely gave me a hard time but it was good experience painting water.
